This species has previously been treated as a subspecies of either A. albina or A. paulina, but is elevated to specific status by Yata et al. (2010). It is endemic to New Caledonia and islands to the east.Geographical races/subspecies

- = Appias paulina argentifera Joicey & Talbot, 1928
