Introduction
Usually black (in desert or prairie habitats may be pale) ground-dwelling salticids with central pale chevronned stripe on abdomen. Related to Habronattus but males lack ornaments except sometimes reddish face and slightly hairy and enlarged first legs. Like Habronattus, third leg patella+tibia longer than same fo fourth leg. The genitalia are distinctive, with an embolus fixed the the tegulum. Ground dwelling in similar habitats as Habronattus, but concentrated in the North and higher elevations. One of the few holarctic genera of salticids.Information on the Internet
