This is an Amazonian species, ranging from eastern Colombia to central Brazil. Constantino and Salazar (2010) report records of larvae feeding on Passiflora coccinea, P. faroana, P. hexagonocarpa, P. mansoi and P. phaeocaula.Characteristics
Similar to the allopatric P. wernickei, but the ventral hindwing postmedial band is mostly brown, with a reduced white medial band.Geographical races/subspecies
